It’s been a wonderful year here at Nexus Arts. We’ve been privileged to host three amazing seasons of music featuring 27 of Australia’s most wonderful musical acts including Joseph Tawadros, Grace Barbe, Frank Yamma and many others. In our gallery we’ve been fortunate to host seven incredible exhibitions including Beyond Identity by FX Harsano, Marzha/Borders a showcase of contemporary Afghan work curated by Elyas Alavi and Welcome Home an exhibition by our inaugural Nexus Studio residency artist Jelena Vujnovic.
We’ve also delivered a number of great community projects and were honoured last week to win a Ruby award for Community or Regional Impact Under $100,000 for our Barngarla Stories of Resilience project.
At the end of this busy and artistically productive year we’d like to take the time to say a huge thanks to everyone involved in Nexus for their contribution across 2015. To the artists, thank you for bringing yourselves so fully to the projects we have undertaken together. Your work inspires us, drives us and challenges us to do better year after year. To the audiences, thank you for supporting Nexus and the artists we promote. You know how important a unique voice for culturally diverse work in South Australia is to the arts ecology of our state and we thank you for your ongoing support. To our funding partners, sponsors, board members and staff, thank you for enabling our valuable work. We’re looking forward to bringing you all more exciting programs next year but for now we just want to wish you a Merry Christmas, a safe and joyous New Year and a cracking beginning to 2016. See you next year everybody…
Note: The Nexus Arts office will be closed from COB Friday 18 December and reopening on Monday 11 January.
