Louise Dunn is the executive director of Nexus Arts and has led the organisation through a challenging financial and artistic recovery over the past 5 years. Louise began her career as a theatre designer and focused on working with communities through a Community Arts and Cultural Development framework. Louise developed and managed the Nexus Arts Ruby Award winning Barngarla Stories of Resilience project in Port Augusta in 2014 and manages the curation of the Nexus Visual Arts program.
Board and committee positions include Kultour/Diversity Arts Australia (deputy chair, chair, treasurer), Community Arts Network of South Australia (secretary), and the Arts Industry Council of South Australia. Highlights while working at Nexus have been the Barngarla Stories project and working on the national campaign against federal funding cuts to the arts sector. Louise enjoys painting and has recently started shoe making in her backyard shed, accompanied by her boxer dog, Cedric.
Louise is currently on maternity leave, with Emily Tulloch acting as Executive Director until January 2019.
