“Fly Away” is an interdisciplinary exhibition by 8 Afghan-Australian new and emerging artists to be showcased at the Kerry Packer Civic Gallery and Nexus Arts. From June to December 2017 young artists from the Afghan community in South Australia will come together to build connections with one another and their community through group workshops, focused on the common themes of identity and connection. Outcomes will include significant professional development of both the emerging artists and Elyas Alavi as curator. This project is supported by Afghan Youth of South Australia, Kerry Packer Civic Gallery and Nexus Arts.

Exhibition opens on Thursday 10 August at 6pm

The Artist talk will commence at the Kerry Packer Civic Gallery, before continuing to Nexus Gallery
