Salary: $55,000 pro rata, plus compulsory superannuation contributions
Hours: 0.2FTE (7.6 hours per week)

Nexus Arts is a leader in culturally diverse and intercultural artistic practice. We are the only contemporary arts organisation in South Australia with this focus. Nexus presents contemporary art which explores, promotes and celebrates cultural diversity. We foster excellence by supporting culturally and linguistically diverse and First Nations artists with development programs and presentation opportunities, engaging broad audiences to experience diverse artistic practice.

PURPOSE OF POSITION

The Marketing Assistant supports the marketing and communications of Nexus Arts. The Marketing Assistant works closely with the Marketing Coordinator and other members of the Nexus Arts team in the communication and promotion of Nexus Arts activities. We will employ your individual skillset to the benefit of the team and the organisation, focusing on strengthening both your personal capacity and that of our organisation.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the marketing of various campaigns throughout the year, including Nexus Live and the Exhibition Program
  • Assist in the marketing of Venue events, supporting hirers and artists to communicate their core messages and promote their performances
  • Contribute to social media content across Nexus pages
  • Contribute to the review of Nexus Arts’ Marketing and Communications Strategy
  • Monitor campaigns and contribute to reporting on effectiveness
  • Assist in development of marketing collateral for Nexus Arts programs and Nexus Arts program artists, in collaboration with all program staff
  • Support the production of content for the organisation’s website
  • Assist in the delivery of Nexus’ monthly eNews
  • Other marketing and communications duties as appropriate

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA

  • Qualifications or demonstrated experience in marketing, communications, or similar
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to write, edit, and produce engaging content appropriate to difference audiences within established brand guidelines
  • Strong organisational skills, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to responsively prioritise tasks in a changing environment
  • Experience working both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • A passion for the arts and a commitment to Nexus’ Vision and Mission

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience within or familiarity with the local music sector
  • Experience with graphic design or video editing programs
