The yearlong program aims to bolster creativity, connection, and community in an intercultural and supportive environment.

Saturday 23 November 2024 will feature Ms. Chipeta and Kara Manansala.

Hailing from Adelaide / Tarndanya, Ms Chipeta is a Malawian-Australian singer songwriter musing on matters of the heart. Leaning into softness and femininity, music is her space for self exploration. Always chasing connection, Ms Chipeta draws inspiration from a unique blend of RnB, soft pop and alternative / indie. Candid lyrics and honeyed vocals are the soul of her style.

Kara Manansala is a Filipino-Italian musicmaker and storyteller living and creating on Kaurna Yerta. Jazz educated, she pulls from her favourite aspects of jazz, nu-jazz, neo-soul and RnB to cultivate her own groovy sound. Her voice and ears lie in the intricate details, and her music combines well thought lyricism with harmony, groove and improvisation. A sought after vocalist in the Adelaide scene, she has lent her voice to various configurations, including that of renowned drummer Alexander Flood, 10 piece funk band Bend, and an array of session performance and recording work. This new wave of music brings her closer to the Melbourne nu-jazz sound that she adores. She aims to create connection and conversation through her music, and ultimately to both move you, and make you move.
