Nexus Arts Visual Arts Lead
Salary: $72,000 per annum pro rata at 0.4FTE, plus compulsory superannuation contributions
Hours: 0.4FTE (15.2 hours per week)
Commencement Date: from July 2025 to be negotiated
End Date: 31 December 2025 with view to extension
Location: Kaurna Yarta (Adelaide CBD)
Reports to: Nexus Co-CEOs

THE POSITION
Nexus Arts is seeking an experienced and passionate Visual Arts Lead to drive the vision, programming and delivery of Nexus Arts’ Visual Arts Program.
To be successful in this role, you will have knowledge and understanding of contemporary arts and culture, experience in working with artists, experience in the development of arts programs and initiatives and an understanding of community cultural development.

SELECTION CRITERIA
- Strong artistic vision for the Nexus Arts Visual Art Program, providing opportunities for discourse and debate in culturally diverse, intercultural, and First Nations arts practice.
- Experience with leading high-quality curation and artistic programming on an organisational scale.
- Experience with visual art program delivery, including contracting, exhibition installation/de-installation and facilitating public programs such as artist talks.
- Deep knowledge and understanding of the South Australian Visual Arts sector.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with artists, curators and the wider visual arts network.
- Ability to work within strict timelines, on budget.
- Strong communication skills, treating others with respect and compassion.
- High attention to detail and accurate record keeping.
- Ability to contribute to and coordinate marketing materials and PR pitches.
- Be a proactive, supportive member of a team.

SELECTION CRITERIA
- Experience with developing and implementing a strategic fundraising plan
- Experience with identifying and developing prospective philanthropic opportunities
- Experience with identifying and developing prospective project grant opportunities
- Experience with writing grant applications and preparing acquittals
- Ability to coordinate fundraising and development events, ensuring continued integrity of an organisational brand
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with funding partners, individual donors and stakeholders
- Ability to deliver integrated publicity for programs, ensuring that messaging is consistent and coordinated across all communication channels
- Ability to craft, contribute to and coordinate internal and external communications, including PR pitches, media list development, newsletters, philanthropy reports, supporter communications and more
- Experience with managing external communications to members, identified stakeholders, and media (including EDMs, advocacy outreach, press releases, partnership outreach, event publicity, and social media)
- Experience with leading creative storytelling activities to boost the visibility of and profile of the organisation
- Experience in identifying and utilising relevant news cycles and communication channels
- Experience in servicing memberships and/or donor circles
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work cooperatively and productively in a team
