Mapping out decolonial thinking in musical fragments, this performance connects ideas of place, displacement and identity. The music draws on a melange of traditions and contexts to present geographical and historical narratives, taking inspiration from a mixed Mauritian and Australian background. Framed by the existentialist outlooks of Fanon and Sartre, the fundamental violence of colonialism and its effects form the backdrop for this series of musical landscapes that evoke a sense of finding your way.
