Nexus Arts Studio Residencies 2026 Call Outs

Applications for our 2026 studio residencies are now open.

The Nexus Arts Studio Residency Program delivers professional development outcomes for emerging and early career South Australian artists from culturally diverse or First Nations backgrounds. This program supports artists to develop and present new work with access to a mentor of their choice, a free onsite studio space and a solo exhibition at the end of the residency.


NEXUS ARTS STUDIO RESIDENCY PROGRAM

Residency 1
Studio Availability: Jan – March

Residency 2
Studio Availability: May – July

Each residency provides:

  • access to a free CBD-located studio space for 3 months
  • a supported mentorship with a leading South Australian creative practitioner or relevant industry professional
  • an exhibition of new work created during the residency in the Nexus Arts Gallery, and online

RESIDENT ARTIST – JACKIE SAUNDERS

Jackie Saunders is an emerging Ngarrindjeri Wirangu artist whose work celebrates indigenous culture while also addressing themes of identity, resilience, and the intersectionality of disability. During her residency, Jackie will explore the theme ‘Resilience and Regeneration’.
