About the exhibition

Kenez’s most recent body of work explores the complexities of navigating personal and cultural histories in the construction of one’s identity.

Through the many faces and stories of her humanoid ceramic sculptures she seeks to ask one simple question: Who gets to be Australian?

FRUZSI KENEZ (b. 1989) is an Adelaide-based ceramicist, painter and curator exploring intimate and often biographical themes of language, lineage and connection, and the ways in which they interlink with culture and our sense of home and belonging.

Kenez holds a Bachelor of Visual Arts (Art History) from the University of South Australia, a Graduate Diploma in Art History from the University of Adelaide and is currently completing her masters in Art History at the University of Adelaide.
